Mangalore, 08 Jul 2012: Taking potshots at the ruling party, Siddaramaiah, leader of opposition in the legislative assembly, said on Saturday that even if Jagadish Shettar becomes the chief minister, there will not be any positive changes in the state.

On Lingayat community leader becoming the chief minister once again during the tenure of the BJP government, he said, "It will not have any kind of impact on the Congress in the next elections."

He was in the city to attend a seminar on "60 years of Karnataka Legislative Assembly," organized by St Agnes College.

Later addressing the gathering, he came down heavily on speaker K G Bopaiah.

Referring to Bopaiah’s order of disqualifying 16 MLAs, which was later kept aside by the Supreme Court, the opposition leader said: "A speaker in the assembly should be non-political and secular, but Bopaiah is not."

He alleged that huge amount of money was spent to win the recent legislative council elections.
