Konkani students can apply for scholarship

Mangalore, 08 Jun 2012: Vishwa Konkani Student Scholarship Fund (VKSSF) set up by World Konkani Centre, Mangalore has invited applications for scholarships from Konkani speaking candidates seeking professional education.
Only candidates with Konkani as mother tongue can apply for the scholarship regardless of cast and religion. A mother tongue certificate needs to be provided while applying.
Only candidates who are seeking admission to the first year of the engineering or MBBS course in 2012 can apply.
Candidates who have scored above 70% in SSLC and in the core subjects in PUC and also secured a ranking of 20,000 and below in the CET can apply. Their total annual family income should be less than Rs 2.5 lakh.
The references from family doctor and a chartered accountant should be provided in this regard while applying.
Student selected for scholarship should be willing to sponsor two students after the completion of their studies and they should also do community service for 20 days in 2012-13. Most deserving candidates will be selected on basis of verifications by independent panelists and each of selected candidates will be awarded scholarships amounting Rs 30,000 and Rs 40,000 for the engineering and MBBS respectively.
Candidates can apply online for scholarships through an online application module set up by world Konkani Centre on their website: www.vishwakonkani.org
Application module will be opened for applying from Sunday.
Candidates can login to the website for instructions on preparation for application process and terms and conditions of the scheme.
