Udupi: Teenager drowns in sea

Udupi/Mangalore, 02 May 2010: A teenager drowned in sea at Karkikali in Uppunda in Kundapura taluk on Saturday. The deceased has been identified as Mahesh (16). He was taking bath when the incident occurred. 

 
In another incident, Susheela Poojarthy drowned when she accidentally slipped into a lake at Shirlalu in Karkala on Saturday.

Ganza seized

Dakshina Kannada SP squad sleuths arrested a person and seized 1.850 kg ganja worth Rs 25,000 at Vamanjoor junction.

The arrested has been identified as Prabhul Jose (22), a resident of Kanakatla in Surathkal. He was arrested while trying to sell ganja. He had brought ganja from Idukki in Kerala. The arrested was produced to the court which remanded him to judicial custody till May 14.
