Bangalore, 28 April 2010: After a long and deep discussion (almost 3-4 weeks) with the members of BelleFusion – Bengalooru, we four of us finally decided to have a fun filled day out to a resort on Sunday, the 25th April. The destination, “Club Cabana” is on the outskirts of Bangalore (around 30kms away and on the way to Airport, Devanahalli).
We (Myself, Alban Melwin and Praveen) started at around 8AM after attending a Tamil mass at St. Anthony’s Friary, Koramangala in a “Small feather of BelleFusion” (A name given to Melwin’s new Car - Alto). The ride to the resort was pretty nice except for Melwin’s unsuccessful attempt to fill air at nearly 3 petrol pumps. We were pretty unsure of the route in spite of the Club Cabana route map and the unsure route guidance from Alban (to put it lightly) somehow we managed to reach our destination.
The first impression of the place was its huge. The serene surroundings of the place were perfect for relaxing, the gardens extended till the eyes could see and the swimming pools looked really inviting. Once we were done with the car parking, we immediately inaugurated our photo session.
After the registration, we all were tagged with bands, purple one for “Club Cabana Visitors” (I think) and a red one for Water Sports. The club is split at the center by the main road and these bands were a way of knowing who is trespassing.
Immediately after the breakfast, we headed towards the tennis and the badminton courts, which unfortunately turned out to be occupied. Some companies have bought a bunch of their employees to the club and the club was clearly over crowded. But still we managed to get hold of the TT court, Bowling, Snooker, Shootout and the Carom boards.
It was lunch time and we all headed for the buffet. The food was good, both veg and non-veg was delicious. I particularly enjoyed the Mutton Curry and Ice-cream with custard.
After lunch, we have decided to get into the pool. All of us came out in swim wear and started enjoying the water sports. We then headed to the pool that made most sense to us the “Lazy Pool”. It was basically a moat in which we would float slowly in circles. That was fun for a while. The tidal pool was next and the waves were really good. The giant slides were next in our list. The 3 slides were clearly fun and we didn’t need much motivation to get into it. Once the slides were done, we headed to the tidal pool once again.
After the water games, we had tea and it was time to head back. We spent some time taking photos in different angles until the battery get discharged and remembered that we had missed the Trampoline. We decided to spend a few mins there. As soon as we got on top of it we realized that this was the best part of the club. Few minutes later we started heading back to Bangalore in our small feather. A day none of us will forget in a hurry.
