Dr. Acharya honour Salim Javed for Karate achievement

Udupi, 20 August 2011: During the Independence day celebrations, Udupi district In charge Minister Dr. V.S. Acharya felicitated Salim Javed for his achievement in International competitions. On this occasion MLA Raghupathi Bhat, Deputy Commisioner Dr. T.M. Reju, District Superintendent of Police Dr. Ravikumar and other dignitaries were present.
Salim Javed had qualified and received Black Belt in Karateat at young age. He is the student of Prabhakara Kundar of Malpe. Currently Salim Javed is working as the Physical Trainer at Marena the Indoor Sport Stadium of Manipal University and also as the Karate Instructor at Malpe Flower of Paradise.
In the International Karate Championship held in Bangladesh recently, Salim has won 3 medals for India. Besides this he has also won the award ‘Emerging Sports Person of the year 2010’ from Talent Research Foundation, Mangalore. He is now undergoing tough training with the intention to represent Indian team for the forthcoming Asian Games in South Korea. Also he has the dreams to join the Indian Army.

Congrats Javed! However, this is getting over rated everywhere. Sounds like no one has achieved it earlier. When it says, 3 Medals for India , excuse me! it s for himself, There was no selection for this tournament, it was open to all. |
