"Shalegagi Navu Nivu"- Programme Takes Off

Belman, 10 July 2011: “While we effectively implement the children’s right to education, it is also important that we improve the quality of education in our schools through administrative reforms which need to be implemented with the help and understanding between the departments, peoples’ representatives and the public which will give a creative fillip to the new programme called “ shalegagi navu- nivu” (we are for school). This new programme has started through out the state on July 5. All must support this programme to make it a success.” This was the call given by Mr. Rangadhamappa, Regional Education Officer, Karkala. He was speaking at a meeting of school Headmasters of Belmannu region of the Public Education Department of the state held in the assembly Hall of Nandalike School on Friday, 8 July. He also said that the goal of this programme is to spread awareness and transform the future of our children. He encouraged all the schools whether they are run by the state or aided or not aided by the state, to participate and support.
On the dais were Coordinator of Education Ms Shailaja Hegde; Physical Education Director Mr. Babu Poojary; Nandalike cluster resources development in charge Mr.Narayana Poojary; Mundkuru cluster resources development in charge Mr. Chandrakanth D’sa.
District Primary School Teachers’ Association secretary Mr. Laxmikanth Bhat welcomed the gathering and Aided Schools’ Taluk president Mr. V. K. Rao, Nandalike proposed the vote of thanks.
