Brahmavar: Students, faculty pledge eyes
Brahmavar, 21 March 2010: As many as 41 students and 8 faculty members of Crossland College, Brahmavar, handed over their willingness letter to donate their eyes at a function held at the College recently organised by the Youth Red Cross unit of the college.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Nithyananda Nayak stressed the need for people to join in the noble venture of donating their eyes as they continue to live through others. He assured the donors that the donation of eyes never result in any form of deformity to the face. A culture of helping others through such acts of love has to be developed and the students must create awareness at homes, so that more will come forward to pledge their eyes, he said. President of Udupi Red Cross unit Basrur Rajeeva Shetty, Treasurer Chandrasekhar, Principal of the college Prof Samuel K Samuel and Youth Red Cross in charge Jyothi spoke.
