Hassan: Sri Rama Sene Leads Protest of Policyholders in Recovering Money from Micro Insurance Co

Hassan, 23 Aug 2013: Sri Rama Sene led the hunger protest of policyholders and agents against Micro Insurance Companies that are functioning under an agreement with Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), in order return the monies that are paid by the policyholders, in front of the office of Deputy Commissioner here on Thursday August 22.
The protesters alleged that Micro Insurance Company that is functioning under LIC undertaking has appointed Samanvaya Health Education and Rural Development Institute ®, a NGO based in Tiptoor that is operating all over Karnataka including Channarayapattana, Holenarasipura, Hassan, Mandya, Krishnarajapete, Beloor, Sakleshpur, Nagamandala, Malavalli, Turuvekere, Srirangapattana in different entities, alleged the protesters. It has collected crore of rupees from hundreds and thousands of policyholders and cheating in returning the money to them. When the policyholders visited Micro Insurance Company and LIC regional office at Mysore and Bangalore, they were not able to give satisfactory replies to their queries, alleged the protesters.
The protesters demanded the policyholders money that are paid from 2008 and 2013 and are entered in records had to be returned to the respective policyholders, demanded the protesters.
The protesters cautioned the state government the hunger protest will go on till the monies are returned to the policyholders.
Sri Rama Sene district president Janekere Hemant led the protest.
