St Agnes PU College celebrates Karnataka Rajyotsava with great enthusiasm and fervor

Mangaluru, 03 Nov 2023: Karnataka Rajyotsava is a significant day that commemorates the formation of the state. This momentous occasion was celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervor at St Agnes PU College on 1 November 2023.
The programme commenced with a prayer song invoking the blessings of the Almighty. The highlights of the festivities were the vibrant and diverse cultural performances that showcased the talents of our students. The college auditorium came alive with a kaleidoscope of folk dances, a medley of folk songs, and a dance drama based on folklore, all centered around the theme of Kannada culture, tradition and history. The PPT screening paid tribute to renowned personalities from Karnataka and exhibited its rich culture and heritage.
The Chief Guest Dr Prabhakar Neermarga, Novelist, Researcher and Administrator extended warm greetings on the occasion and spoke on the historical significance of Kannada Rajyotsava and enhanced our understanding of the day. He also shared his insights on the contributions of prominent Kannadigas to the state’s development. He praised the syncretic and diverse culture of the state and exhorted the students to take pride in all the languages spoken across the length and breadth of the state. He was particularly proud of the fact that the Indian National flag is manufactured in Hubli. He entreated God’s blessings on the state that it achieves greater heights of success and prosperity.
The celebration of Kannada Rajyotsava was a resounding success. It not only fostered a sense of pride in our illustrious legacy, but also promoted unity and harmony.
The convenors, Mrs Shailaja, department of Kannada and Ms Likitha, department of Home Science and the students worked tirelessly to organize a memorable celebration. Varsha welcomed the gathering and introduced the chief guest, Sanathini &Varsha together compered the program with flair, while Preksha rendered the vote of thanks. The Principal Sr Norine D’Souza, Vice Principal Sr Janet Sequiera, the faculty and students witnessed the program.
