Mangalore, 20 Jul 2014: Disappointed by the autocratic decision of the state and national leaders of Aam Admi Party (AAP), 17 founder members of the Dakshina Kannada district AAP resigned for their primary membership here on Saturday July 19.
The ones to resign included founder convener Robert Rosario, founder convener, co-convener S Nandagopal, present convener Dharmendra, founder secretary Ajay Kumar and 13 others.
The founder co-convener S Nandagopal announced the resignation during the media conference held at Hotel Janata Deluxe hall here on Saturday July 19.
Nandagopal said, ‘We don’t know who our leaders are, therefore we have addressed the resignation letter as ‘To whomsoever it may concerned.’
Nandagopal further said, ‘The founding members of the party are hurt with the undemocratic manner by which the party’s candidate for the recently held Lok Sabha elections was selected. We joined the party after being inspired by the anti-corruption movement, transparency and its stand on Swaraj. But the candidate was chosen in a most discreet way without consulting the office bearers of the party.’
‘We had complained to the national and state leaders of the party and except for the docket number generated in the grievances website, we received no reply from any of the leaders,’ said Nandagopal.
‘After all the drama of the elections was over, we had written a letter to Kejrival on May 17, in which we explained the autocratic ways that the party high command has taken and the reasons why 17 of us resigning from the post as we have no existence in the party,’ said Nandagopal.
‘As the citizens of Mangalore city, we demand the party leaders to publicize the accounts of AAP Lok Sabha candidate of Dakshina Kannada. Even though we are not in the party, we demand this from a party that is making pompous announcements regarding the transparency,’ added Nandagopal.
The leaders Robert Rosario, Dharmendra, Ajay Kumar, Krishnamurthy and Ismail were present at the occasion.
It is indeed a tragedy. The founder memebrs -Leaders of a party at the base should have some cool temperament , patieince and slow approach. Wehn some one at Udupi asked me I refused because I was not convinced of the Leadership at the National level. They had some particular motive and they failed. This was visible when Mr Anna Hazare had actively canvassed against NCP and he has shown his mood to oppose Sonia Gandhi s leadership. He failed. He Joined later BJP. Like wise Mr Kejriwalla. He was not strong enough in his conviction and character of withstanding opposition tactics and f ailed. Now he does not know which way to go.He hastily resigned and made a mess of the situation. It is for the people of Delhi to face who did not take a plain thinking when they cast their votes to AAP.The Strength of leadership and character was not properly assessed applying SWOT formula. Now how can they face the problems. They have to be with either of the National Parties. Similar is the situation at Magalore Aam admi party people. It was all destined Repent not. take deisions wisely .
