Mangalore, 05 October 2010: The memorial built in memory of the 158 air-crash victims of IX- 812 Air India Express from Dubai to Mangalore on 22nd May 2010 in six black granite slabs with the names of all the 158 ill-fated passengers and six crew-members that was installed on 27th July 2010 on an elevated structure in front of the site of the air crash at Kenjar Road side near Bajpe airport, has been vandalized by unknown miscreants today morning.
It is really shocking that the memorial that was put up in remembrance of the unfortunate victims of the air crash irrespective of religion, region, caste and status has been vandalised by unscrupulous criminals which shows the inhuman tendency among those who do not believe in humanity. Such vandalism should be condemned by all sensible people.
The police are investigating the criminal activity and it is hoped that the culprits will be apprehended as early as possible and punished suitably for insulting the memory of those victims of the terrible air crash.
