He further said that www.daijiworld.com has been voice for voiceless, economically-weaker which has garnered over Rs 8 crore through charities so far. He wondered how biased the media in India that distorts the facts for political gains and sensationalizing the news. He urged Daijiworld TV to focus on positive journalism for long term benefits.
Speaking on the occasion, Sudhir Shetty said that www.daijiworld.com was launched when internet was not widely available, but the farsightedness of its founder Walter D’Souza paid off in many years of hard work as its viewership reached nearly 4 lac per day. In order to reach the readers of print media who are ignorant of internet, Daijiworld Weekly was launched and is rapidly growing its readership. Meanwhile, it became a full-pledged media house with the launch of Daijiworld TV. He stressed upon the positive journalism as competition forces the media houses to falter from their core values and follow the bandwagon. The sustenance will come with striving for professional excelling by sticking to unbiased reporting.
