Mangalore: Dakshina Kannada LS Constituency records overall 76.67% Voters Turnout

Mangalore, April17, 2014 :   Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha (LS) constituency recorded an overall voters’ turnout of 76.67 percent at the close of general elections here on Thursday April 17 at 6.00pm.  The voting was indeed peaceful as law enforcement agencies provided fool-proof security in most sensitive polling centers and other locations also.

 
The voting began in polling centers across Dakshina Kannada on Thursday April 17 at 7.00am and concluded at 6.00pm.  The voting was held for 28 LS constituencies across Karnataka simultaneously on Thursday.   

 
The fate of 14 candidates of Dakshina Kannada LS constituency has been sealed on Thursday at 6.00pm, while the results will be declared along with rest of the nation on Friday May 16.

 
 
The candidates contesting in DK constituency - Janardhan Poojary (Congress), Nalin Kumar Kateel ( BJP), M R Vasudev (AAP), Yadavn Shetty (CPI (M), Haneef Khan (SDPI), Moosa Kunhi alias Abdul Karim (BSP), Supreeth Kumar Poojary (Hindustan Janata Party) and Sudatta Jain, Advocate Ananda Gatty, K Kushala Bellare, Deepak Rajesh Coelho, Maxim Pinto, Subrahmanya Gowda and K N Soma Shekar (Independents).
