Prize distribution function for the Short Film competition held in Mangalore

Mangalore, 23 September 2010: Ambit Computer and Technical Training Institute, Mangalore had recently conducted ‘Ambit Short Film’ Competition on the eve of the 64th Independence Day celebrations. The prize distribution function of this Short Film competition was held in their premises on Saturday, 18th September 2010.
Mr. Naveen Bekal of Hi-Vision Production, Mangalore bagged the first position for his documentary film named ‘Miss U…’. The story of this short film is based on new couples who got married recently and met with an accident in the Bajpe plane tragedy.
The short film named ‘Rabiya’, compeered by Jalesh and team of St.Aloysius College, Mangalore. Secured the third position. ‘Rabiya’ is the story about a Muslim girl who is very much fond of classical dance which was opposed by her own community and she ultimately overcomes all obstacles with the encouragement given by her mother.
The prize distribution function was compeered by Mr.Prasad B.N and Dr.S.M.Shivprakash was the chief guest. Following the distribution of the prizes, Dr.S.M.Shivprakash praised the directors of these prize winning short films for the interest shown by them and stressed upon the need to explore the topics such as environment and ecology. Mr.Jagadish of Ambit assured full co-operation for the production of short films on relevant subjects in the future.
