Mumbai: St Joseph’s Konkani Welfare Association Blood Camp at Mira Road

Mumbai, 9 Mar 2014: St Joseph’s Konkani Welfare Association, Mira Road organized a blood donation camp in association with Bhakti Vedanta Hospital, Mira Road (East) and Sarala Blood Bank, at Infant Jesus Hall of St Joseph’s parish, Mira Road here on Sunday March 9.
Mira Road parish priest and spiritual director of Association Fr Dominic Vas OCD inaugurated the camp with a prayer.
Speaking on the occasion, Fr Vas said that in this season of lent, we all Christ’s faithful are obliged to do penance, each one’s own way. He prayed for God’s abundant blessings on the donors. He gave call to all to participate generously in the blood donation camp and save lives of sick and suffering.
Hundreds of people queued up patiently to donate blood from 8.00am to 2.30pm on Sunday.
After the medical check up, 172 people qualified to donate blood, donated their blood.
St Joseph’s Konkani Welfare Association president John Crasta, welcomed the donors. The secretary Arun Noronha thanked the team of Sarala Blood Bank and the blood donors.
