Mumbai: Vijaya College Mulky Alumni Association organizes Annual Get-Together at Bunts Bhavan

Mumbai, 24 Nov 2013: The metro-based Vijaya College Mulky Alumni Association organized annual get-together and felicitation programme as part of silver jubilee celebration of Vijaya College at Bunts Bhavan, Kurla (East) here on Saturday November 23 evening.
The Alumni Association president Karnire Vishwanat Shetty presided the programme.
World Bunts Federation vice president Ikala Harish Shetty, Vijaya College – Mulky chairman Dr M A R Kudwa, principal Professor K R Shankar and others were the guests of honor.
The Association honorary president chartered accountant Shankar B Shetty inaugurated the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Kudwa said that it’s essential that the entire alumnus attend the silver jubilee celebration of Vijaya Bank – Mulky from December 26 to December 29. He also acknowledged the contribution of Mumbai unit of Alumni Association towards the objective of helping the economically-weaker students in native Mulky.
Shankar Shetty said that the unity of alumni is commendable in supporting the social welfare activities of the Association.
The retired Professor M Balachandra Gowda and office staff Laxman B Suvarna was felicitated on the same occasion, along with alumnus achievers the renowned hotelier Kolacchur Kondettu Sukumar Shetty and Varsha Sukumar couple, Satish R Shetty and Sasikanti Satish (Peninsula), Anand Shetty and Vidhya Anand couple, entrepreneur Padmakar Kotian, Mumbai High Court advocate Sundar G Bhandary.
Professor Balachandra Gowda in acknowledgement to the felicitation said that he has the happiness of teaching students to lead responsible lives. The teachers are privileged to mould the students in virtuous deeds.
Bharat Bank (Mumbai) Limited director K N Suvarna and CEO C R Mulky presented a cheque of Rs 5 lac as contribution to Vijaya College Mulky Alumni Association on the same occasion.
The Association governing council members Ashok Devadiga, Jayant S Prabhu, Arun Kumar, C Ashwajit Hejamady, Ranjan Kumar Shetty, Uday Shetty Adi Ashraya, Chandrahas Shetty Shimantoor, Sunil Shetty Padubidri, Bhaskar B Shetty, Ashok Shetty, Rohitaksha Suvarna Palimar, Praveen B Shetty, advisors Kashmir Bhaskar Shetty, chartered accountant I R Shetty, K S Suvarna, Mohan Shetty, Damodar Rai, Anand Shetty, Sundar Poojary Mulund, Navinchandra L Suvarna, Naveenchandra Bangera and hundreds of alumni were present on the occasion.
Professor K R Shankar and Rajalaxmi Shankar were honored on the same occasion.
Devi Shetty presented a mimicry show, while Mangalore-based Lakumi theater group presented Tulu play, Nank Materla Bodu, as part of cultural programmes.
The Association president Karnire Vishwanat Shetty in his introductory address said that the Association has been striving to pool resources for scholarship fund, in order to help the economically-weaker students to carve out better future.
