Hassan: Renowned Poet S Manjunat lauds Contributions of Golden Era Poets – DVG, Kuvempu, Da

Hassan, 14 Nov 2013: At the joint aegis of central and district Kannada Sahitya Parishat and as part of Kannada Rajyotsav celebrations, a discussion meet on Kannada poets and their poetry of golden era was held at Kannada Sahitya Parishat Bhavan, here on Tuesday November 12 night. 

 
The renowned poet S Manjunat offered motion for the programme.

 
Speaking on the occasion, Manjunat said that the mother tongue Kannada and motherland should be sustained forever.  Several poets authored poetry in Kannada.  He urged the new generation to preserve their works for posterity, urged Manjunat.

 

 

 
‘The poetry indeed is soothing the minds of listener.  The poets have enriched the language, while the golden era authors DVG, Kuvempu, Da Ra Bendre and others contributed immensely to Kannada sphere.  Their poetry was successful in rekindling emotions, bolster the leadership among the youth and of course focused on Indian cultural hierarchy,’ said Manjunat.

 
Sri Nidhi Sugam music group presented a musical show on the occasion.

 
The retired principal Dr Syed Zameer Ulla Sharif from Bhatkal, Kannada Sahitya Parishat district president Dr H L Janardhan and others were present.

 
Kannada Sahitya Parishat honorary secretary Goroor Shivesh welcomed the gathering.  C K Harish compered the programme.
