Abu Dhabi: Konkani Prayer Group organizes fun filled ‘Family Picnic 2013’ on Nov 8

Abu Dhabi, 08 Nov 2013: Konkani Prayer Group (KPG) a leading prayer group of St Joseph’s Church, Abu Dhabi whose members provide selfless service not only to Konkani community but serve as Ushers and Lay Ministers at every service of the church throughout the year came to-together once again at Baniyas Park, Baniyas (Abu Dhabi) at 10.30 AM for a ‘Family Picnic 2013.

 

KPG members provide so much relentless service to the Abu Dhabi Church and community the Almighty was so grateful for them and blessed them with a beautiful weather for a day of fun and joy enjoyed by all members and their families.

 

Picnic began with their leader Rohan welcoming the gathering and wishing them all the best.  He thanked each and every one who involved in organizing the event. They did not forget to thank God for the perfect day for picnic and a prayer was recited by Avin one of the prominent members of KPG family The day full of fun began with their well-known compeer Canute pinto inviting all and arranging 8 groups.  The entire event was very well conducted most efficiently by Canute.  It started with passing the ring game to ignite their spirit.  Eight-groups were created to conduct the games in a much disciplined manner and groups were named  Red-hose, Bukhlee Kotub,kithapati,Thorno Abbo,Tapori,Samadan,Shimtynatullo Kolo,& . Shalom.

 

Canute and team organized some the best and fun loving team games such as, felling the water to the botlles There were also some games organized for children.  All the Children had a great day most of the time enjoyed running around the park area enjoying - happy and gay.

 

 

Prior to lunch our traditional fun loving game: tug- of-war was held and it was a really a tough fight for supremacy by all teams and after having a tight competition Buklle Kotub team, true to their name, finally managed to pull through.

 

The afternoon session was filled with creativity games.  The groups formed during the morning session staged skits  won hearts of all and had crowd laughing out of their lungs and will remain in their memory for some time to come.

 

Vote of thanks was evoked by Flavia she thanked the organisers, team members and the crowd in general.  She praised the organizing committee for their commendable job in entertaining and managing the whole event peacefully and enthusiastically and prior to closing the prize distribution ceremony was held.   The overall champion Buklle kotub team lead by Jaison,was declared winner and won the 1st prize followed by Thorono Ambo  The colourful event concluded with housei at around 5.00 pm. The full day open air picnic was witnessed by more than 200 families.
