Hassan, 31 Oct 2013: It’s indeed distressing news for the beer-lovers. It’s further distressing to those who prefer to have many liters of beer with the belief that more beer one has the better the kidney functions. The fact is that a beer-lover who bought a bottle of beer of United Beverages (UB) was shocked to find muck inside the bottle.
A certain Rajesh had bought one 650 milliliter of premier strong beer bottle of UB recently from a wine shop in the city. He had set the table with snacks at home and was about to open the bottle with an opener, when he saw muck inside the bottle. He would not have noticed if in case he had a few beers. He took the bottle nearest to the CFL bulb and found the muck in it. He lost his interest to sip the beer at once after the incident.
He was furious over the incident and called the customer care centre; the receiver said that their representative will call him and took Rajesh’s contact number. That’s it. None of them bothered to call him.
The label states the bottle is filled on October 3 2013 and of batch number 106/L2/11.
Rajesh had also bought a half-liter bottle of packaged drinking water with the brand Director’s Special of UB along with beer bottle. The drinking water bottle was of 1005 batch. Meanwhile, to his sheer bad luck, he found that too was contaminated with some substance floating in the bottle. He called the customer care and also got irresponsible reply from them.
It’s clear that at the backdrop of UB owned by liquor baron Vijay Mallya is facing severe financial hardships seemed not bothered about maintaining the quality of its products. The customers expect courteous response in addressing their grievances and resolve the issue amicably. They should not be taken for a ride. At the present times, when the prices of every necessity are skyrocketing, one does not get quality products. This situation would not arise, if the customers are aware of their rights.
