Beltangady, 5 Oct 2013: It will be one year wherein Soujanya, a student of SDM College, Ujire and a native of Dharmasthala was raped and brutally murdered on October 9 2012. The general conception is that the law enforcement agencies are trying to protect the culprits by registering case on a mentally unsound person.
Meanwhile, the deceased Soujanya’s family and the responsible citizens of Beltangady staged protest, urging the then state administration to hand over the case to CBI in order to bring the real culprits into books. But, the inquiry derailed without taking the clear stance by the then state administration in this regard.
The students unions supported by different societal organizations will hold a protest automobile rally from Beltangady on October 9 at 9.00am to Mangalore whereby a massive stir will be staged in front of the office of Deputy Commissioner (DC) at 11.00am. All India Janavadi Mahila Sangatane vice president and Rajya Sabha member Seema will inaugurate the protest rally along with key women leaders of Karnataka, stated the media release.
