Mumbai: St. Joseph’s Konkani Welfare Association, Mira Road® hosts Talent Competition

Mumbai, 30 Sep 2013: St. Joseph’s Konkani Welfare Association, Mira Road® organized “Konkani Talent Competition” at Community Hall of St. Joseph’s Church, Mira road on 2th September, 2013. The competition was conducted in Elocution, Singing and Dance categories. The competition was held for the parishioners of St. Joseph’s Church Mira Road. Famous singers Mr. Kenneth Zuzarte, Mr. Henry D’Souza and Mr. Charles D’Cunha were the judges. Fr. Dominic Vas OCD, Spiritual Director of the Association, Mr. John Crasta, President, Mr. Arun Noronha, Secretary, Mr. Hilary d’Silva, Cultural secretary, Mr. Lawrence Mathias, treasurer along with Judges inaugurated the competition by lighting the lamp.
In between the competition, members of the Association entertained the crowd with hilarious skits and songs.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Henry D’Souza appreciated the level of talent of participant and said that Mira road indeed a Mini Mangalore, and the level of competition is indeed much more than what he had expected. Mr. Charles D’Cunha said that this year participation was better than last year. Fr. Dominic Vas praised the Association for its efforts in conducting such competitions and said that such competitions will definitely for the welfare of Konkani language and encourages more and more people to use the language. Mr. Arun Noronha, Secretary of St. Joseph’s Konkani Welfare Association, Mira Road offered vote of thanks.
