Mumbai: United Ways of Vision celebrates founder’s day and blood donation

Mumbai, 22 August 2010: United Ways of Vision (U.W.V.), a social welfare Trust of Nalasopara, which supports and helps under-privileged people, celebrated their 3rd Founder’s Day on 15th August 2010.
The Blood Donation Drive was organised in association with Sarla Blood Bank, Vasai. Through this campaign they collected 79 pints of blood to help save atleast few lives on earth.
On the same day, all the members with their family offered a special thanksgiving Mass at 6.30 p.m. at St. Francis De Sales Church, Nalasopara.
This was followed by an entertainment programme. A group of 20 talented kids from ‘Dynamic Dance Academy’ performed their skills through a Patriotic Dance which brought back the memory lane of great people who have sacrificed their lives for our Nation. They also performed few dances on Spiritual theme as well as Classical.
Mr. Donald D’souza, Hon. President of U.W.V. welcomed the guests. Three orphan kids, who have lost their both parents but, have been adopted by United Ways Vision celebrated the ‘Hope in their Life’ by cutting the Cake.
Chief Guest Fr. Rosario, expressed his feelings and applauded the good work done by U.W.V. and prayed to God to give strength and courage to all the members to carryout the deed. Guest of Honour Mr. Philip Sequera, a political leader and a social worker himself, urged us to adopt more and more such unfortunate kids and be a ‘Hope for the Hopeless’. Mr. Napoleon Gonsalves, Advocate High-Court and Mr. Maxie Rodrigues a Industrialist were present on the Dias.
Baby Prinal Fernandes and Jisel Fernandes danced to the tune of Zoobi Doobi, Baby Velina Dsouza, Velisha D’souza and Andrea D’souza danced for Bum Bum Bole to entertain the gathering.
All the students who excelled in S.S.C., H.S.C. and Graduation were felicitated by presenting a Certificate of Honour, a Trophy and Flowers. This was an attempt to encourage them to do better in future studies. All the child artists who performed on stage were also encouraged by handing over mementoes and flowers.
Mr. Joylan Fernandes, Hon. Secretary presented before the audience, a brief report about the activities carried by U.W.V.
Mr. Arun Pinto, Hon. Treasurer, thanked everyone who was a part, for the success the Trust. Ms. Delisa Oliveira aptly conducted the entire entertainment programme.
Fr. Rosario offered the Grace before the Meal and the dinner was served to all.
