Mangalore, 15 Sep 2013: The jubilant Dakshina Kannada (DK) district BJP unit here on Saturday September 14 celebrated its leader and Gujarat CM Narendra Modi’s elevation as the PM nominee for the 2014 parliamentary elections.
The party activists and local leaders, some of them wearing Narendra Modi’s masks, expressed their joy by bursting crackers and distributing sweets.
Addressing the gathering, DK district BJP president Pratapsimha Nayak said that Narendra Modi is the right choice to lead the nation and steer it out of corruption and inflation created by the ruling UPA government. Under Modi’s rule, the citizens can live with peace and harmony and the country will see more development and better infrastructure, said Pratapsimha.
‘Narendra Modi will make India one amongst the super power in the world,’ added Pratapsimha.
MLC Monappa Bhandary echoed Nayak’s words and said that Modi is the choice of young India and he would definitely win the forthcoming elections by a large margin.
Taking potshots at the UPA, MLC Bhandary said that for almost a decade, corruption and maladministration by the Congress-led government had destroyed the country’s economy and made the rupee nosedive against US $. Taking into all this, Narendra Modi is the only hope to bring back the country on the path of development, said MLC Bhandary.
Modi was declared as the BJP’s prime ministerial nominee on Friday September 13 in the national capital, after a meeting of the party’s parliamentary board.
