Kundapur: Monthi Festh celebrated in Our Lady of Rosary Church with grandeur

Kundapur, 08 Sep 2013: The Monthi Festh, the most popular fest in the Konkan was celebrated with grandeur in the Church of Our Lady of Rosary, Kundapur on Sunday, September 8, 2013. Prior to the feast mass, Rev. Fr. Anil D’Souza, the parish priest blessed the new paddy that was kept in front of the Grotto at the edge of the ground in front of the church. Thereafter, the people proceeded to the church in procession carrying the decorated cheral with the statue of Mother Mary.
The solemn feast mass was offered by Rev. Fr. Clifford Fernandes, lecturer in St. Joseph’s Seminary, Jeppu, mangalore. In his homily, Fr. Clifford said that the birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary was a plan of God. Mother Mary has taught us how to live like good human beings with faith and she has also taught us lessons how to build holy families. Rev. Fr. Anil D’Souza and Fr. Pravin Martis were the concelebrants of the feast mass.
After the mass, sugarcane was distributed to the children. Rev. Fr. Anil D’Souza and Fr. Pravin Martis blessed the vehicles in the church compound. A large number of parishioners attended the solemn feast mass.
