M’lore: Narayan Guru Birth Anniversary Celebrations Begins at Kudroli

Mangalore, 22 Aug 2013 : The one-hundred-fifty-eighth birth anniversary celebrations of Narayan Guru was inaugurated at Damodar S Suvarna auditorium, Narayan Guru College, Kudroli, here on Thursday August 22.

 

 

MLA J R Lobo inaugurated the programme here on Thursday morning.

 

Narayan Guru College administrative officer Professor Balakrishna Gatti presided the function.

 

The College principal Dr Vasant Kumar, Billawa Sangh women wing president Sumalata N Suvarna was present at the dais.

 

Mangalore University political science Professor Dr P L Sharma presented a paper on the need to repeat the history of Narayan Guru at these prevailing times.

 

Prajavani, Kannada daily city bureau chief Balakrishna Puttige presented a paper on emulating the progressive ideologies of Narayan Guru.

 

The concluding ceremony will be held here on Sunday August 25 morning.

 

The state health minister U T Khader will be the chief guest of the occasion.
