Mangalore: Congress veteran Janardhan Poojary Distributes Flood Relief Fund to Victims Families

Mangalore, 14 Jul 2013: The state ministers of Dakshina Kannada, Congress MLAs, Congress corporators, veteran congressmen and party activists collectively contributed Rs 4.75 lac towards flood relief fund, which will be distributed to 5 families of victims at Rs 25,000 ech and rest will be distributed to those whose houses were damaged, said the former union minister B Janardhan Poojary.
Janardhan Poojary was speaking after presenting the cheques of Rs 25,000 each to the victims’ families of recent floods – Khalandar’s family, residing at Lacchil, Dabbeli, Harekala, here; Ijaz Ahmed and Abdul Razak’s family, residing at Ammunje in Aantwal taluk.
Both Janardhan Poojary and minister Ramanath Rai presented the cheque of Rs 25,000 to the families of Puttanna Naika, a native of Mudnar in Puttur taluk and Mahabala Moolya, a native of Navoor village in Beltangady taluk.
Janardhan Poojary further said that Congress led state administration has hiked the compensation from Rs 1 lac to Rs 1.5 lac to the families of flood victims, said Poojary.
Ibrahim Kodijal, Harikrishna Bantwal, B H Khader, Sasidar Hegde, T K Sudhir, Eshwar Ullal, Arun Coelho, Santosh Shetty, Mahabala Marla, Abbas Ali, Kavita Sanil, Jacintha Alfred, Appi Shailaja, Ratikala, Mohan Mendon, Chandrashekar Bhandary, Sabita Misquit, Prakash Alape and Nagaveni were present at the occasion.
