Kundapur: Annual Feast of St Antony’s Pilgrimage Shrine, Kerekatte Held with Utmost Reverence

Kundapur, 15 Jun 2013: The annual feast of St Antony’s pilgrimage shrine located at Kerekatte, near Hosangady, near here was held on Thursday June 13.
The shrine director Fr Xavier Pinto celebrated the Holy Mass in Kannada at 9.45am on Thursday and distributed the honorary candles to the sponsors of annual feast.
The festal Holy Mass in Konkani was concelebrated by Mangalore Bishop Dr Aloysius P D’Souza, Udupi Bishop Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, Gulbarga Bishop Dr Robert Miranda, Beltangady Bishop Dr Lawrence Mukkuzee, Bhadravati Bishop Dr Joseph Arumachadat, Kundapur deanery vicar Fr Anil D’Souza, and several clergies here at 10.30am on Thursday.
Thousands of devotees regardless of castes, creed and faith including nuns present at the occasion.
Udupi diocesan vicar general Monsignor Baptist Menezes announced St Antony’s pilgrimage shrine, Kerekatte as officially recognized as a pilgrimage centre by Udupi diocesan authorities.
The free food was offered to all the devotees who have attended the festal Holy Mass.
Fr Xavier proposed vote of thanks.
