Udupi: Mother Plays Key Role in Transforming Family: Vinay Hegde

Udupi, 02 May 2013: Mother is the head of our family, whose motherly qualities can ably manage the family.  One just cannot forget his/her mother who is the personification of generosity.  She plays key role in transforming the family, said Nitte University chancellor N Vinay Hegde.

Vinay Hegde was speaking during one-hundred-fiftieth birth anniversary of Varvady Radhamma Heggadti, visionary of social and educational reform of Shirva, during a function held at Nyarma Hosamane stage, Shirva, near here on Wednesday May 1.

 

 

 

Radhamma Heggadti’s farsightedness was realized in establishing Vidhyavardak Sangh that runs many education institutions including higher education institutions in the once rural area of Shirva locality, said Vinay Hegde.

Speaking on the occasion, Padmabhushan Dr B M Hegde said that nature and God are one.  The nature teaches everything.  When a person becomes rich, the love towards humanity disappears.  Money brings many sorrows.  Meanwhile, Radhamma Heggadti has set an example one can achieve greatness by finding happiness in sharing the good fortune, said Dr Hegde.

Fr Stany Tauro, parish priest of Our Lady of Health parish, Shirva graced the occasion.

Shirva gram panchayat president Hassanabba Sheikh, the district Rajyotsav award recipient medical practitioner of Shirva – Dr K R Venkatakrishna, Shirva community health Centre medical officer Dr Vasudev Upadhyaya were felicitated during the programme.
Varvady family’s elder Dr Varvady Balakrishna Hegde presided the programme.

Varvady Subbayya Hegde proposed vote of thanks.  Nirmal Kumar Hegde and Indira S Hegde compered the programme.
The extended family members of Varvady family, dignitaries and well wishers were present at the occasion.
