M’lore: BJP Activists protest Condemning Caning at Kunjathbail

Mangalore, 16 Mar 2013: The BJP activists staged a massive protest in front of Kavoor police station, here on Friday March 15, condemning caning of police on clashing of BJP and Congress party activists at Kunjathbail here on Thursday March 13 night.
The clashes ensured between BJP and Congress party activists at Kunjatbail circle, when the jubilant Congress activists were celebrating victory of Mohammed who contested from Kunjatbail north ward in civic polls here on Thursday night. Kavoor police sub-inspector and policemen resorted to caning on clashing party activists. BJP activist Pramod who was hit on his head admitted to A J Shetty Hospital here and others were admitted in general ward for minor injuries. The miscreants set fire to a fruit stall located at Kavoor junction.
Meanwhile, the activists of BJP and Hindu communal outfits staged a massive protest demanding suspension of Kavoor station sub-inspector Umesh and a constable who were responsible for causing physical injuring during caning.
