Doha: Gulf Voice of Mangalore 3 Grand Finale - Orson (Kuwait) & Reena (Oman) bag coveted trophy

Doha/Qatar, 20 Oct 2012: Historical event ’Gulf Voice of Mangalore’ season 3 Finals were held at Giwana Hall of Radisson Blu Hotel on 19th October, 2012 at 4.30 pm.
MCA establised in 2008, mainly to grow the unity among all Mangaloreans residing in the Gulf region was able to organize the grand event, beyond the expectations of the gulf region as audience from all around the region were unanimous in their opinion, about the grande show in the evening at Qatar.
The event began with the MCA anthem, praying to the Almighty, to safeguard all the interests of Konkans in the gulf region. Symbolic inauguraton was done by lighting the lamp by the founders and office bearers of the MCA.
Harry Lobo president of MCA in his Welcome address, gave a short note on the activities of MCA in the gulf region over a span of four years, by accepting, Mother Teresa as the patron of the organization. He highlighted the larger charity works of more than Rs.23 lakhs of rupees, in short period of time.
Soon after the Welcome note the stage was handed over to Leslie Rego, the renowned Show compere, who was the star attraction in the previous 2 editions of GVOM. He arranged to hand over the marks sheets to the Judges of the show, namely Sangeet Samrat Henry D’Souza, of Ye Ye Katrina & Ami Dogi Sezara Fame, Konkan Maina Smt. Meena Rebimbus, Wife of the great Konkan Kogull Late Sri Wilfy Rebimbus, Rev. Fr. Desis D’Sa, Poet Composer Ex-Director of Sandesh Fine Arts institute,Mangalore, and presently Administrator of Fr.Muller’s Medical college Hospital,Mangalore and Sangeet Guru, Musician Sri Joel Periera.
There were 2 rounds singing designed for crowning the winners among 12 participants namely Remi and Preema from Qatar, Sydney and Teena from Bahrain, Jeevan and Sabitha from UAE, Morvin and Reena from Oman, Orson and Lavina from Kuwait , shallet & Roshan from SaudiArabia.
6 Female candiates were called upon first to exhibit their singing talent with the music and with choice of their songs….
The famous numbers present by the 6 female finalists are as follows.
1.Tina (Bahrain) Noshiba , Lyrics by Melwin Peris, Original voice by Anitha Samson,
2.Shalet (KSA) Modhyanecho talo , Lyrics by Late Sri Wilfy Rebimbus from the famous Konkani Play ‘Tisri Chit’
3.Preema Pinto (Qatar) – Mahima Devageli Lyrics by Late Sri Wilfy Rebimbus
Original voice by Smt. Meena Rebimbus
4.Sabitha (UAE) Jai bharatha , Lyrics by P H Pinto
5.Lavina (Kuwait) Suknem Hanv Pinjranthlem, Lyrics by Sri Clauds D’Souza
6. Reena D’Souza(Oman) Ashem Kednayim, Lyrics by Sri Lloyd Rego
After the ladies , there was the turn of male competitors and the numbers presented by them were…

2 Orson ( Kuwait) – Angelina-Lyrics by Tony ,Bejai
3 Jeevan (UAE) – Mhoja Kudinthlya Shirani….. Mai Mai…

6 Sydney (Bahrain), Konkani Bhaas, Lyrics by Late Sri. Wilfy Rebimbus
Among the 12 singers 3 each from the male and female category…
Namely Orson ( Kuwait), Jeevan (UAE) and Morvin (Oman) from male category and Preema Pinto (Qatar) , Sabitha (UAE) & Reena D’Souza(Oman) made it to the final 3.
This round had 2 songs each for a member, one round was Singing without the music in the back ground and the other being one song for each contestant from the 3 songs selected by them and given to the judge for their selection meant for the singing in the second round of final elimination.
The songs sung by the singers without music were
1 Orson ( Kuwait) – Hanv ek Sopneli-Lyrics Mick Max
2 Jeevan (UAE) – Manglura- Lyrics Antony Tauro
3 Morvin (Oman) – Chintan Sadann- Mandd Sobhann
And the numbers presented by the 3 female singers were…
1 Preema Pinto (Qatar)-Gulobhanchya Phantyar
2 Sabitha (UAE)- Ee Chandrama
3 Reena DSouza (Oman)
And after this singing round one song was given to all the male singers and another song for the female category for knowing their rendering ability for the same song in their own vesions.
For the final score the round 2 and 3 were only considered , first round scores being only for the shortlisting and elimination task of the judges.
Stage programme was very prominenet one as the same was attended by Sri Sanjeev Arora, Ambassador of India in Qatar. He greeted the audience with some meaningful Konkani words in between his address to the gathering.
Main Sponsor Ronald Colaco released the Gulf Voice of Mangalore souvenir and appreciated the efforts of all MCA officials whose hard work in organizing such a show in a very large scale in Qatar. Wife of Sri. Ronald Colaco , Mrs. Jean Colaco honoured Arun Palimar from KSA, Roshan D’Silva from UAE, Richard Moras from Bahrain, Stany Fernandes from Oman, Wilson Saldanha from Kuwait while Walter Nandalike, Proprietor of Daiji World Media Network honoured all the participants by giving them moentos. In his address to the gathering he appreciated all the Konkani speaking people of the Gulf regionpeople for aseembling under one single roof.
Before the results dancers of Dance India Dance & Jhalak Diklaja fialists (TV Channel Dance Reality Shows in India) namely Cornel, Elton, Sonali & Sneha presented their truly magnificient and professional dance presentation on the stage.
And member of the jury Sangeet Samrat Henry Dsouza) presented his All time Immortal Number,Ami Dogi Sezara with another jury member Rev Fr.Denis D’sa.
Gulf Voice of Mangalore, after the successful seasons in Kuwait, UAE and presently in Doha Qatar, now goes forward Sultanate Oman as the baton is handed over from MCA Qatar. To MCCP in Oman, which will present the show in 2014.
As the moment every one was waiting was about to come the Show Cmpere announced the results with the cheerful crowd cheering for their respective state particiapant.
Orson from Kuwait and Reena D’Souza from Oman were declared as winners of GVOM -3 season for their brilliant musical skills , while Preema Pinto (Qatar) was runner up for the consecutive 2nd time and the male runner up was Jeevan from UAE.
Morvin from Oman and Sabitha (UAE) were the second runner ups of GVOM 3.
And see you all next time in Oman in GVOM – 4…………………….
