Abu Dhabi; Dr. B R Shetty inaugrates Tulu Film “Oryardori Asal”

Abu Dhabi, 08 July 2012: The eagerly awaited yet another Tulu film produced by well known Mangalorean drama writer Vijaykumar Kodialbail was screened at the Abu Dhabi Eldorado Cinema on Friday afternoon.

 

Most of us Mangaloreans are very familiar with Tulu drama “ Oryardori Asal “ which was a super hit in Mangalore and other parts of Karnataka in the early 1990sand was successfully staged innumerable times across the country.  Since it grew in popularity many attempts have been done to make it a movie and finally the writer-director Vijaykumar Kodialbail succeeded in making a fine movie out of this wonderful comedy drama.

 

The inaugural function was held at the Eldorado cinema amidst dignitaries and Padmashree Dr. B.R. Shetty (MD NMC Group) along with crew of the movie Producer Vijaykumar, actors Likith Shetty (Hero),   Ramya Barna (Heroine) lit the traditional lamp and inaugurated the movie by cutting the ribbon.  Sarvotham Shetty (President, Karnataka Sangha Abu Dhabi) welcomed the gathering and the crew members of the movie especially Shodan Prasad (Social Worker) for his initiative for arranging movie to be premiered in U.A.E   He also thanked Noel Almeida and others who are involved in this project.  He thanked them all for bringing out this movie and made available to the U.A.E. public the love of Tulunadu and said that the movie was run more than 175 shows in Mangalore which in itself speaks highly about the film and its popularity which is very proud moment for all tuluvas.

 

 

 

Dr. B.R. Shetty too thanked Vijaykumar Kodialbail for producing is most successful film and bringing to the gulf and wished them good luck.  The dignitaries who attended the inaugural function and then after enjoyed the complete movie namely:  Shekar Shetty (Arab Udupi Restaurant Group), Sundar Shetty (Nihal Restaurant), Ramesh Shetty (Eldorado Restaurant) and Jayarama Rai (Group Finance Manager Bin Fardan Group).

 

The film “ Oriyardori Asal “ is a comedy film acted by well known actors like Naveen D Padil, Aravid Bolar  Rekha Das and special appearance by Guru Kiran (Singer) and Raymond D’Souza (Indian-International famous  Body Builder).  It revolves around three families and their neighbours.  Unfortunately they all are staying in rented houses belong to a landlord.  Mangalore is developing in every direction and this development esp. of buildings and properties have become very popular among the rich.  Hence this landlord too plans to demolish these tiny old houses of the village belongs to his great grand father and gives the ultimatum to his tenants to move out.  However, his move to oust them did not success as he planned and imagined.  The hero of the movie Likith Shetty takes this as a challenge and forms a solid resistance along with the villagers and fights the battle in the courts.  The heroine Ramya (daughter of the landlord) though sides with her father initially, eventually understands the difficulties of the her loving neighbours and gives in and falls in love with the Hero.  The father tries to lure her back but fails and after going through very difficult times, the neighbours sigh a relief and movie ends in a happy note.  This movie is good, lovely songs and beautiful scenes of Dhakishan Kannada, filmed at exotic and religious locations of Mangalore.  The acting by all main characters is supper and admirable especially veterans Anand Bollar, Naveen D. Padil and Rekha including Likith and Ramya.  The more romantic songs and scenes with the main actors would have made this movie more wonderful to watch.  Nevertheless the movie is very good and enjoyable as it offers a lot to laugh.  All in all it is a very good comedy movie with a family bond among the neighbours without cast, creed or religion.
