Prajna Counseling Center Celebrates Silver Jubilee

Mangalore, 18 April 2012: Prajna Counseling Centre celebrated Silver Jubilee of its activities on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at the Milagres Jubilee Hall, Hampankatte, Mangalore at 9.30 am. Dr. Chinnappa Gowda, District Commissioner inaugurated the Silver Jubilee programme by lighting the lamp on the dais along with other distinguished guests.
Besides Dr. Chinnappa Gowda, the function was atended by U.T. Khader MLA, Mangalore City Rural Constituency, Aubrey D’Souza, President of the Aubrey D’Souza Charitable Foundation, Fr. Francis Xavier Gomes, Principal, Milagres Degree College, P.B. Harish Rai, President, DK Working Journalist Union, Mrs. Nina Nayak, Chairperson, Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights.
Prof. Hilda Rayappan, Director of Prajna welcomed the guests . In her welcome address, Prof. Rayappan narrated the reason behind starting the Prajna Counseling Centre. She pointed out that starting with a small way, the Prajna Counseling Centre over the years has grown in its activities and presently 86 member team helps in running various activities of the centre.
Following the inauguration of the Silver Jubilee programme, Prajna family members including Bhavani, Ganesh, Wilma, Ranjitha and Rajivi shared their experience with the guests and the audience.
Aubrey D’Souza released the Souvenir of the Prajna Silver Jubilee celebrations. Fr. Francis Xavier Gomes in his address complimented the Prajna Counseling Centre in completing 25 years of dedicated service and wished success in future endeavours as well. U.T. Khader in his message said that Prajna Counseling Centre is the gift to the nation as it takes care of the marginalised people especially women and children.
Mrs. Nina Nayak who presided over the function explained various government schemes and projects that are available for the people.
Children from the Prajna Couseling Centre presented variety entertainment programme. At the end of the programme Mrs. Jacinta proposed the vote of thanks.
