Jagotik Konknni Sanghotton Mumbai Sammelan

Mumbai, 31 Mar 2012: Jagotik Konknni Sanghotton(Global Konkani Organisation) that has 136 Konkani Organisations registered all over the world organised a Maharashtra State Level Konkani Conference on 25-March-2012 at St. Francis Technical MBA Hall, Poisar, Borivli West. 130 delegates representing various organisations participated in the sammelan.

 

The programme was inaugurated by Mr. John D’Silva. Mr.Albert W. D’Souza was the chief guest. Mr. P N Shanbhag was the guest of honour. JKS Vice President India Mr. K K Uttaran and JKS tresurer Mr. Roy Castelino were also present at the dais.

 

 

 

Tomazhino Cardozo, President of JKS presented a paper on "Situation of Konkani and its future at Global level", Eric Ozario, Secretary of the JKS presented the paper on "Script controversy in Konkani and its solution". Lawrence D’Souza Kamani associate secretary of JKS presented a paper on "Situation of Konkani and its future in Maharashtra". Ancy DSouza Paladka, Public Relationship Officer (PRO) of JKS moderated all three sessions.

 

All the members present, unanimously decided to bring together all the Konkani organisations in Maharashtra on 16th June under the leadership of JKS to discuss about Konkani Akademy in Maharashtra, to build Konkani Bhavan in Mumbai and to solve the "Kudam" issue of Mumbai.

 

In the beginning Kenny Zuzarte, Anderi gave an welcome address. Sophia D’Sa, Mira Road gave Vote of thanks. Well Known Konkani Compere Mr.Clament Lobo Chakala achored the entire programme. The conference concluded with the dinner.
