Udupi: Who wins between BJP – Congress? JDS to decide!

Udupi, 23 bFebruary 2012: As BJP and Congress announced their candidates for the Udupi – Chickmagalur Lokasabha by election, here in JDS camp also preparations for the battle is getting ready. Though there is no possibilities for JDS to win in this constituency, they can certainly decide on who among the BJP and Congress candidates to win, so the game is getting into more interesting now!
 
Already the names of JDS Udupi District President Deviprasad Shetty, Chickmagalur President Boje Gowda, JDS Youth leader Madhu Bangarappa and Mahendra Kumar are in the air. In between somehow also the name of actress Pooja Gandhi was heard. But finally Madhu Bangarappa and Mahendra Kumar names are being heard now.

 

 
Both Madhu Bangarappa and Mahendra Kumar can decide on who among BJP and Congress candidate can win. So the election will be more colourful than it was thought earlier. Madhu Bangarappa is the son of late Bangarappa who was the leader of Billava community, so naturally he would get some of the Billava votes, so will be a thorn for Congress and will get some of Congress candidate Jayaprakash Hegde’s votes, is one way of analyzing it.
 
Mahendra Kumar is of Sanga Parivar background and a effective speaker and the strength of his speech and how many votes he can pull? can be only known when he becomes a candidate. But if he is launched then he will break BJP’s votes and will put BJP candidate Sunil Kumar his one time colleague in Bajarangadal in a critical situation, is another way of analyzing it.
 
During 2009 Lokasabha election Radha Sundaresh of CPI party contested with the support of JDS and won the election with 24,991 votes. In the last election BJP had won with 27,018 votes. This time both CPI and Left parties will be supporting JDS, so the amount of votes for JDS will be more this time. So, though JDS is not there for the count, still they are in the game for sure.
 
Altogether, if JDS launch either of these two, they will be the reason for one among BJP or Congress to win and one to loose, is the calculation of the political zone. How far this calculation will go right, will have to be waited and seen. JDS will be announcing the name of their candidate on 27th February.
