Moodubelle, 16 April 2010: As a follow up of the recent agitation of the people of Moodubelle on 7th April 2010 in front of the Mescom section office against the erratic electric power supply, especially during the evening time when the school and college children had to appear for their annual examination, the agitating victims and their leaders were assured by the Mescom Section Officer, Mr. Sameer that he will make arrangement to invite higher official of Mescom to hear their grievances. Accordingly, the Assistance Executive Engineer of Mescom, Mr. Shankar paid a visit to the Moodubelle Mescom office on 15th April 2010.
In a memorandum submitted to Mr. Shankar, the power consumers of Moodubelle have pointed out that during the evening and night time, whenever there is a break down in the 11 KV line, the people have to suffer without electricity due to the non-availability of linesmen to rectify the break down. As a result, people have to wait till the next day for the linesmen to come and restart the power supply.
Another problem pointed out in the Memorandum is that in the sub-section of Karkala, for Bailoor and Palli-Ninjoor, there is a provision for a separate 11-KV line. However, since last many days, due to the pressure from people of those areas, they have been supplied electric power from Moodubelle feeder line. This has resulted in additional load on the feeder line in Moodubelle that has been causing breakdown in power supply in practically every ten minutes. This has been causing a lot of inconvenience to the people. In the Memorandum, the people of Moodubelle have made a request to the Mescom authorities to supply electricity to Bailoor, Palli-Ninjoor areas through the separate 11-KV power line meant for these areas so that additional load is not put on the Moodubelle feeder line.
As load shedding is inevitable, it has been suggested to the Mescom authorities that it should inform the people the time of the load shedding and have the load shedding done in a rotational manner.
On behalf of the power consumers of Moodubelle, the Memorandum was submitted by Commodore Jerome Castelino to the Assistant Executive Engineer, Mr. Shankar. Addressing the agitated consumers, Mr. Shankar assured them that he will try to solve these problems faced by the people of Moodubelle as early as possible. Besides Mr. Shankar and Commodore Jerome Castelino, the meeting was attended by Mr. Sameer, the Section Officer of Mescom, Moodubelle, Mr. Devdas Hebbar, Mr. A.K. Alva, Mr. Benedict Martis, mr. A.J. Alva, Mr. Rajendrsa Shetty Edemer as well as others.
