Manipal: Atharva 2011-12 Inauguration Ceremony at TAPMI

Manipal, 22 January 2012: The inauguration ceremony of Atharva 2011-12, which is the Annual International B-school Festival of TAPMI, started with lamp lighting ceremony by the chief guest of the day Dr. K. Ramnarayan, Vice Chancellor of Manipal University, Dr. A. S. Vasudev Rao, Director of TAPMI joined the Chief Guest along with the Convener of Atharva 2011-212 Mr. Shivkumar Awati and the Co-convener Mr. Tilju Manjaly.
Prof. Chowdari Prasad introduced the esteemed chief guest of the day Dr. Ramnarayan to the audience. Mr. Shivkumar Awati briefed the audience about the long journey and achievements of Atharva since its inception. He spoke about different events that would be conducted during the three day event. On the first day, events such as Young Business Leader, Sankalp, Chakravyuh, Outcry, Sahayog, Vibes would be conducted in the campus by different student committees of TAPMI.
On the Second day, Quiz On the Beach (QOTB) which is the flagship event of Atharva would be conducted in Kaup beach by the TATA Crucible famous quiz master Mr. Giri Balasubramaniam. On the third day Polemic, a corporate debate would be held at Fortune Valley View followed by the Valedictory function. The three day event would come to an end with Salim-Sulaiman concert at KMC greens which is open to the Public. Mr. Shivkumar cordially welcomed the audience to be a part Atharva 2011-12.
Later Dr. Vasudeva Rao, Director of TAPMI addressed the gathering and expressed his happiness to see Atharva grow every year. He evoked the memories of how Atharva had started in the year 1984 which was then called as ‘Hill fest’, later as ‘Summit’, and also spoke about the origin of ‘Sankalp’ the first B-school fest of TAPMI.
The chief guest of the day Dr. K. Ramnarayan expressed his pleasure to be a part of inaugural ceremony of Atharva. He appreciated the growth and achievements that TAPMI has made in the recent times. He said B-school events play a very important role in instilling team spirit among the students who come together to learn and share knowledge on various issues.
The inauguration ceremony came to an end with vote of thanks by Mr. Tilju Manjaly. He thanked Dr. K. Ramnarayan, the dignitaries, faculty, and the staff of TAPMI for gracing the occasion. He also thanked the student committees of TAPMI for their support, and thanked the audience for taking part in the celebrations of Atharva 2011-12.
