Doha: Bellevision Qatar Celebrate Christmas 2011

Doha, Friday 10 December 2011: Mangaloreans are known for celebrating Christmas wherever they are. Here in Doha the members of Bellevision Qatar along with their families and friends had their annual Christmas get together in a very special way on Friday 09th December 2011. The day was perfect as everyone gathered as one large family at the residence of Edward and Tina Castelino the hosts of the day to celebrate the occasion. 
 
The proceedings began at about 12.30 pm as Edward Castelino in his welcome note thanked everyone for joining the celebration and as he welcomed the gathering he called upon everyone to have fun and a great day of feast. Cathrine Castelino sang a beautiful welcome song which received huge applauds. Bellevision Qatar President Therese Dalmeida led the prayers and said that it is one of the happiest day of our life because prince of peace and joy was among us.  He has united us, supported us and kept our spirit high always. Today it is time to thank the Lord for all the blessings he has bestowed upon us.

 

 

 
Kenet Coelho conducted the fun filled games for children and elders as the soft drinks, cakes and snacks were served. The games included passing the magic stick with legs and other spot games. But the main game of the day which enthralled and excited everyone was the marking of bow tie of snowman blindfolded which was played by everyone and generated so much fun. It was the masterpiece created by Edward and Tina. Snowman was drawn by Keith Castelino. In a close contest the game was won by Loretta. The spirit of fun continued as jokes were cracked led by John D’Souza and Anil Fernandes.
 
It was then time for the feast lunch and Therese Dalmeida led the grace. Delicious homemade Mangalorean lunch was prepared, led by the families of Therese Dalmeida, Mable Martis, Edward Castelino and John D’Souza, which was relished by all. After lunch, the game of Housie was played conducted by Kenet and Sunil as everyone relaxed excitedly looking for their desired numbers in their coupons, top row, middle row, bottom row and full house were played. The Housie followed by the traditional Baila dance.
 
Prize distribution was conducted by Kenet and Linda Coelho as the fabulous prizes were given to all the winners and congratulated them by Lawrence - Therese, Edward – Tina and John - Alice. Vice President of Bellevision Qatar Anil Mathias proposed vote of thanks, who thanked all the attendees, all those who prepared the delicious lunch and also the sponsors. It was a great day of celebration which brought everyone together.
