Udupi: Grand Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations in Ajjarkad

Udupi, 02 November 2011: Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations were held at Municipal grounds Ajjarkad Udupi on Tuesday 01st November 2011. Upon unfurling the State – National flags on the occasion Udupi District In Charge Minister Dr. V.S. Acharya in his speech said that, 5 Vidhanasaba constituencies of the Districts have been issued special grant of 50 crore rupees by the Chief Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda, for providing the transport and improvising the basic facilities.
 
During the budget this time, the 2 main projects of lake water re supply system, in the 5 Vidhana Sabha constituencies of our District with each 5 crore rupees, that is total 25 crore rupees cost, 138 lakes have been identified and the work has been started. Among these lakes the lake called in Karje, the work is already completed and also has been inaugurated, said Dr. Acharya.

 

 
As per the state government’s new Suvarna Bhumi Yojane, in Udupi district 9227 farmers who are involved in agriculture, farming, honey, fishing, organic, silk, gober gas are issued rupees 2.34 crores directly to their account, announced Dr. Acharya. The district complex built in Manipal will be inaugurated by the Chief Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda by end of this month, he said.
 
On this occasion the Minister distributed the Kannada Rajyotsava awards to the 20 achievers of the district. Before this he received the guard of honour from the District Police, Armed Reserved Squad and Scouts – Guides and watched the march past. Udupi MLA K. Raghupathi Bhat, Kaup MLA Lalaji Mendon, Jilla Panchayath President Katapadi Shankara Poojary, Municipal President Kiran Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Dr. T.M. Reju, A SP Venkateshappa were present.
