Senior Citizen Day Celebrated at Shirva

Shirva, 25 March 2010: Senior Citizens Day was celebrated  at  Our Lady of Health Church, Shirva on Sunday, 21st March 2010. Following Mass offered by Rev. Fr. Richard Coelho the function for the Senior Citizens organised by the Catholic Sabha was held in the church premises. The President of the Catholic Sabha Mr.Lawerence D’Souza welcomed the gathering. Fr Maxim Dsouza was the chief guest .Fr. Fredrick Montiero helped in conducting the games for the Senior Citizens. There was also entertainment programme presented by the members of the Catholic Sabha. Prizes were distributed to the winners in the games by the chief guest.

Along with the priests of the Shirva Parish, the function was attended by Nr. Norbert Machado, Mr. Melwyn Aranha, Mr. Irwin D’Souza, Mr.William Machado and Mrs. Flavia D’Souza. The programme was compeered by Mrs. Jacintha D’Souza. Around 300 Senior Citizens attended the programme along with the members of the Cathol;ic Sabha. Lunch was served to all the participants in the function after the programme.
