MANGALURU, JUNE 10: As the 13-day devotion in honour of St Anthony of Padua entered its final stretch, the Triduum was ushered in with deep reverence and vibrant participation at St Anthony Ashram, Jeppu, and Milagres Church.
The day’s solemn Eucharistic celebrations at 11.30 AM at St Anthony Ashram, Jeppu and 6:00 PM at Milagres were presided over by Fr Basil Vas, Parish Priest of Vorkady, who will lead the Triduum through its spiritual course. In his homily on the theme: “Accompany Those Who Do Good and Take Forward the Kingdom of God,” he invited the faithful to champion acts of kindness, stand by those doing good, and become co-workers in God’s mission.
Fr J. B. Crasta, Director of the Institutions, and Fr Vivian Rodrigues, Assistant Director, concelebrated the Mass. Following this, Fr Vivian Rodrigues led the novena prayers, lifting up intentions and invoking the intercession of the Miracle Worker.
A Spiritual Morning at Jeppu, a Graceful Evening at Milagres
The Triduum session at St Anthony Ashram, Jeppu, began at 9:00 AM, marked by praise and worship, Eucharistic adoration, and spirit-filled preaching by Br Prakash D’Souza, Divine Mercy Charismatic Leader from Mumbai, and Fr Basil Vas. The Ashram resounded with songs of faith and heartfelt cries for healing and renewal.
In the evening, Milagres Church welcomed throngs of devotees from across the city. The celebration began at 4:00 PM with the Rosary, followed by worship, preaching, and the Holy Eucharist. The solemnity of the setting, coupled with the spirit of the Word, drew the faithful deeper into preparation for the Feast.
The faithful, visibly moved, left the grounds with renewed hearts. As lunch was served to all attendees at the Ashram, the message of communion and charity came alive.
As the first day of the Triduum concluded, the spiritual atmosphere was vibrant and hopeful. With eyes fixed on the forthcoming Feast of St Anthony on Friday, June 13, the faithful are invited to prepare their hearts and homes to receive the abundant graces that await.
