Mangalorean.Com Makes a Big Stride - Udupi Office to Open on Sep 15
By Michael Rodrigues
Udupi, 13 September 2011: After making its first physical presence in Mangalore over a year ago, Mangalorean.com will now have its own office in Udupi. It will operate from the 3rd floor of Mythri Complex near KSRTC Bus Stand Udupi.
Mangalorean.com which has successfully completed 8 years of service to not only Mangaloreans but to people hailing from the entire coastal belt of Karnataka, Goa, Kerala, Maharashtra and other states, offers unlimited possibilities for its members, readers and contributors to take part in the worldwide cultural forum. This website has brought the community together by allowing people living thousands of miles away from the point where their lineage started to engage in the world at large and to seek to understand their ethnic and cultural roots.
Mangalorean.com has also given more importance to serving the community by providing free services over the years through its various columns, apart from providing a very visible platform for budding writers. We can confidently say that we have succeeded in our aspiration by encouraging and supporting even dormant writers to become accomplished writers today. This includes committed encouragement to our youth in journalism, to succeed in their journalistic mission by using Mangalorean.com as a platform for their success.
Although Mangalorean.com successfully operated without having any physical office premises for over seven years, it was just one year ago that we opened our first office in Mangalore under the banner of Mangalore Media Company, so that our readers, contributors and well-wishers can have better access to us. Since then our readers from Udupi, especially those who are settled overseas too, have been urging us to enhance our coverage and we have felt the need for having our presence in our neighbouring district too.
Our new office premises will be inaugurated and blessed by Rev Fr Joel D’Souza, OFM (Trinity Central School, Perampalli) at 10:30am on Thursday, September 15, 2011.
The president of Udupi District Working Journalists’ Association Kiran Manjanbail will be the chief guest. Well-known social worker in Qatar Iqbal Manna, who is also Mangalorean.com team leader in Qatar, will be the guest of honour on this occasion.
Mangalorean.com team also invites its well-wishers, readers and contributors to attend the event and bless its new premises.
