Free Mass Marriage Ceremony to be held at Punjalkatte on 16 March

Bantwala: Punjalakatte Swastik Friends Club will be organizing 17th free mass marriage ceremony on March 16 at Punjalakatte Bungalow ground. The meeting was held at Pilatabettu Primary Agricultural Cooperative Society Hall on Sunday in preparation for the mass marriage ceremony.

 

Punjalakatte Sri Gopalakrishna Temple President Nagesh Prabhu inaugurated the function and said that mass marriage is a better practice than expensive marriages.

 

Bantwala Deputy Tahsildar Naveen Benjanapadavu presided over the function and said that it is worrying that the number of divorces is increasing these days. He said that a peaceful life is possible when husband and wife understand each other.

 

Swastik Friends Club Founder President M. Tungappa Bangera said that the marriage ceremony will be held in a grand manner through mass marriage as it is impossible for poor and backward classes to hold a grand marriage.

Contractor Ajjadi Babu Rajendra Shetty, Kuttila Brahma Badarkala Garadi Administrative Committee President Shushant Karkera, Korantabettu Sri Brahma Badarkala Garadi President Sadanand Poojary distributed the mangala vastra. Moorje Narayana Guru Residential School Principal Santosh Sanil, Pilatabettu Gram Panchayat Development Officer Yamunappa Koravara, Gram Panchayat. Member Kanthappa Karkera, Kabaddi Jury Committee Convener Francis VV, Businessman Nitin Shetty Moorje, Club President Prashant Punjalakatte, Former President Madhava Bangera, Pilatabettu Pra.K. Librarian Amrita S., Harish Knock, Rafiq RDS, Hemant, Dhanyaraj and others were present.

 

Girish Salyan Hegdebettuguttu and Harish Poojary participated as goalkeepers and performed the Nischaya Tambula. According to the tradition of Tulunadu, the shooters exchanged Harivana with seed leaves, coconut and jasmine flowers. Mangala Vastra was distributed to 8 pairs of brides and grooms. The families of the bride and groom participated in the function. On this occasion, the staff of BC Road Amar Printers was honored.
