Udupi, Aug 27: Alwyn DSouza, a retired Syndicate Bank Manager, who served at and around Mumbai, especially in Khar Road in late 80’s and early 90’s breathed his last today in Kallianpur, at his ripe 85. A soft spoken personality and a man of principles, he was loved and admired for his amicable disposition.
He leaves behind sorrowing wife Imelda, son Ashley / Ann and a daughter Gail / Osborne Monteiro and the extended family.
Final funeral rites will be held in the Milagres cathedral Kallianpur tomorrow 27th August, 2024, Tuesday, at 4.00 pm.
Son of Felix and Cecilia DSouza of Kachhur, Barkur, and a house located just behind the St Peter Church, born and brought up in Barkur and arrived Mumbai after his SSLC from National High School Barkur in early 60’s. After his fetching his B.Com Degree in Mumbai, joined prestigious Syndicate Bank and climbed the ladder of success in reputed branches and respected positions of responsibilities. After retirement decided to spend his days in native place and chosen Kallianpur to settle down.
The undersigned used to meet him at Santhekatte junction, driving his favourite Scooter at his 80’s, a disciplined man and systematic in his routine and just a few years back suffering due to age related ailments. A jovial person always used to recollect the days in Mumbai in general and SPA in particular.
His concern and care for fellow Barkurian’s unfolded when the prestigious St Peters Association Barkur Mumbai took its birth on 17th April, 1988. During the early inception years Mr Alwyn contributed in different ways and means – being the Youth wing Convenor to find jobs for youth, and in the frontline to mobilise funds for different projects especially The Youth Hostel in Naigaon in Mumbai.
We as a SPA Family offer our respects to the departed soul and pray to Almighty Lord to grant him eternal peace in heaven and send our heartfelt condolences to all the members of the bereaved family.
