Bishop Gerald Isaac Lobo makes appeal to people to help Victims of massive Wayanad Landslide

Udupi, 31 July: Most Rev. Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo, Bishop of Udupi Diocese has expressed deep pain and concern about the people who had lost their lives due to massive landslide in Wayanad, Kerala. He said that the Diocese of Udupi will do its best to provide any help to the displaced people due to this tragedy.
According to the recent reports so far 150 persons have lost their lives due to the landslide and many more are yet to be traced. Moreover, many wounded persons are being treated in various hospitals. All out efforts are being made to provide protection to the affected people. Along with the government agencies, army as well as other service organizations have joined in the rescue operations.
The different parts of Karnataka also have been facing natural disasters such as landslides, cloudburst as well as heavy rains. The Bishop has given instructions to all churches t organize prayer services for the safety of the people as well as for the salvation of those perished in these disasters. Besides, the Bishop has made an appeal to the people of the diocese of Udupi to provide necessary help to those who have been displaced so that they can rebuild their lives.
