Free Uniforms Distributed in National PU College, Barkur

Udupi/Barkur, 26 July: The magnanimous contribution in different ways and means, for the cause of education by the National PU College continues and its once again back in their Alma Mater to distribute Free Uniforms to all the students in a colourful event which was also marked by recognising the special achievers in SSLC and PU Final Exams held in March / April 2024 and honouring all the teachers and Lecturers who were equally responsible for recording 100% in Class X and 98. 5% in PU.

 

Today Thursday, 25th July, 2024, at 3.30 pm, the College Auditorium full its capacity as MRS Jyothy Lecturer in Kannada gave a brief of triune programme to unfold. Principal Prof U Kottraswamy extended warm and homely welcome with fresh roses to all the guests – especially President and Office bearers of ‘The Barkur Educational Society’ and ‘National Alumni Association’ with fresh roses.

 

In his elaborate and stunning key note address, the Secretary of Old Students Association retired Principal Prof Balakrishna Hegde, recalled his days in this Institution and hey days full of activities with reputation and goodwill at its peak in 70’s and 80’s and he expressed satisfaction ‘as happy days are here again with best results, talented and disciplined students fraternity and dedicated teachers with the support of robust Management team, marching ahead.’ While concluding he reiterated, ‘OSA  unde its dynamic President Mr Karunakar Shetty and team more than happy to congratulate all the stake holders for the visible revival and he assured best from past students, provided the momentum is retained in coming years…’

Chief Guest of the glittering event the Mr B Shantarama Shetty, the President of The Barkur educational Society, distributed the Uniforms to all the students, generously sponsored by Old Students and while thanking them wholeheartedly admitted “these Old Students are the backbone and real strength of National Educational Institutions and Management always grateful for their passionate concern and care, amply proved over the years…”.

 

Meritorious students were felicitated with the distribution of special Scholarship by the Vice President of BES, Mr Shedikodlu Vittal Shetty, congratulated the torch bearers and gave a clarion call to all the present students to imitate them and bring glory to the 78 years National High Scholl and PU College.

 

It was feast to eyes of students to witness their most loved and revered teachers receive the honours from the dignitaries with thunderous applause – as each one of them draped with traditional shawl and fresh roses, for their dedicated service and sacrifices resulted in fetching record results in the just concluded academic year.

 

Mr Ashok Kumar Shetty, the Secretary of the BEC, thanked the Old students of NJC for everything they have done and doing, “without you it’s impossible to see this sea change in the Campus with every single facility available at free of cost, especially in this year – transport, free mid day meals, CET NEET Coaching etc … and now Uniforms by Old students, absolutely free” and asked the students how you can pay back? Yes we expect a better academic result, better future and a quality National generation…” 

 

As a symbol of both gratitude and reverence, the President of the Old Students Association Mr Karunakar Shetty Sankady was profusely honoured with draping of shawl, memento and fruit basket and in his followed presidential address, graciously remembered the kind donors who responded to their request, with no hesitation and the credit goes to all of them for their generosity and goodwill. “Better days are here again and as we observe and feel positive vibes and ever smiling faces of students are the witnesses, keep the national flag flying high and bright…” he concluded the message. 

 

It is heartening to note and to visibly demonstrate  the solidarity and unity, among others Correspondent of SVVN and Chairman of the Platinum Jubilee Celebrations Committee, Mr Rajaram Shetty, Treasurer of BES Mr Krishna Hebbar, Correspondent of NJC Mr Gopal Naik,  Correspondent of National Primary School Heradi Mr Ratnakar Shetty, Chairman of the Platinum Jubilee Souvenir Committee and retired GM of Vijaya Bank Mr S. Jayaram Shetty,  Administration Coordinator of National Educational Institutions, Prof P. Archibald Furtado, Vice Presidents of OSA – Mr Harindranath Shetty, Mr S Jayarama Hegde and Treasurer of the OSA Mrs Jyothy Shetty were present on the dais along with other invited guests and parents.

 

The glittering function come to a close by proposing vote of thanks to all present and involved by Headmistress of the National  High School section Mrs Hemavathy PS.
