Suratkal, 22 July 2024: Suratkal: Bantara Sangha (Reg) Suratkal, Rotary Club Bicompady and Subhasita Nagar Residents Welfare Association Suratkal in collaboration with Maybailu Sadashiva Shetty led the 15th annual sapling distribution program and felicitation program for those who have served in various fields was held at Bantar Bhavan here on Sunday, 21 July 2024.

 

Karunakara M., CMD of VK Group Mumbai spoke after the inauguration. Shetty Madhyaguthu said, “Sapling distribution should not be a mere katachara program. The plant taken home should be advised to plant in the hands of the children. This will also develop their concern and love for nature and environment protection. Care should be taken to ensure that no plant dies. This is a worthwhile program at this time when trees are being felled. If there is a clean environment, we all can live a clean life. Let’s all involve ourselves in this work," he said.

 

Ratnakar Shetty, president of Ekkaru Bantar Sangh, who spoke at the meeting said, “Suratkal has been conducting various social welfare programs under the auspices of Suratkal Bantar Sangh. Today’s program is a model for other organizations. By planting fruit plants we help the life of animals and birds. So that they do not destroy the crop. "Let’s live as eco-friendly by doing more and more such activities," he said.

The function was presided over by Bantar Sangh Surathkal President Lokaya Shetty Munchuru. Agriculture Department Joint Director Kempegowda, former president of the association Ullas R. Shetty Permude, President Harish Shetty of Rotary Club Bicompady, President of Subhasita Nagar Residents Welfare Association Ramesh Shetty, Convener of Krishi Samiti Maybailu Sadashiva Shetty and others were present.

 

On the same occasion, former Indian Air Force soldier JW Mahabala Bhandari, Forest Department ACFO P. Sridhar, Civic Committee (Re) Mangaluru Taluk, its president Shubashchandra Shetty Hosabettu, Thana Samrajni Asmabhanu of Moodbidri, social worker Satish Sadananda, farmer Satish M Shetty Panja Bailaguthu were felicitated.
