YCS Moodubelle unit organizes Youth Recollection - Yuva Jeevith

Udupi, 05 Sep 2022: The YCS Unit of St Lawrence Church, Moodubelle, here organised Youth Recollection “YUVA JEEVITH” on Sunday September 4 from 9.30am to 3.30pm.

 

Fr Stephen Lobo OCD, director, Carmel Studio, Infant Jesus Shrine, Bikarnakatte, Mangaluru was the resource person.

 

Fr George D’Souza welcomed the resource person and dignitaries with his introductory remarks emphasizing the importance of recollection and reflection in youth life. He called the youth to practice what they learn here in their daily life and highlighted the benefit of participating in such programs. Pradeep Cardoza thanked Fr Stephen Lobo, OCD for accepting the invitation to conduct a day’s recollection and reflection for the YCS youth of the parish in spite of his busy schedule.

 

 

After the short inaugural program Fr Lobo took over the session by invoking the Holy Spirit with prayer. He introduced the session with heart touching and inspiring life experiences, real case histories, anecdotes and his life story bringing connections to day-to-day issues, struggles and challenges the youth face. His session on Relationships especially with parents, family and friends with real time examples of where the youth get carried away by the influence of mobiles media and its impact was very well explained. He kept the youth active by making it more interactive and through action songs. The sessions were truly inspiring with apt messages on daily life and called the youth to make their life more meaningful and be focused on achieving a higher goal in life always keeping Jesus close to their heart. The day’s program ended with adoration and Holy Eucharistic celebration especially for the YCS youth.

 

Christopher Rodrigues, musician accompanied the resource person to make the session livelier and more energetic.

 

Fr George D’Souza, parish priest and Fr Pradeep Cardoza, assistant parish priest and YCS director Moodubelle parish, guest Fr Ivan Martis, Dr Judith Lobo and Nikitha Rebello YCS animators, Adolf Fernandes, YCS president were present on the dais.

 

Ishal Alva compered the program. Adolf Fernandes proposed vote of thanks. Sonia, secretary of YCS unit introduced Fr Stephen Lobo. Darryl D’Sa, the National President YCS/YSM, former YCS president Royston Martis and Shon D’Souza, Johnson Sequeira, Elvisha Lobo served as volunteers for the program.

 

Around 30 YCS members participated in the program.
