Udupi: Fish markets in rural areas needs development

Kadekar, Udupi, 24 June 2011: For the development of the fish markets in the rural areas, government should provide additional grants and make efforts to bring the fish selling women into the front stream, said Udupi Jilla Panchayath member Divkar Kunder. He was speaking upon inauguration of the newly constructed fish market near Kuthpadi by Kadekaru Grama Panchayath from the government grant.
Kadekaru Grama Panchayath President Tharanatha Suvarna presided over the program. Udupi Taluk Fresh Fish Sellers Union President Baby H. Salyan, Taluk Panchayath member Ganesh Kumar, Contractor Harish Udyavara, Kadekaru Grama Panchayath Vice President Asha Shetty, Panchayath members; Pradipchandra Ganiga, Baskara Shetty and Raghavendra were present on the occasion.
Grama Panchayath Developement Officer Inayuthulla Baig welcomed the gathering and also proposed vote of thanks.
