Shirva: Fish Market to have modern facility

Shirva, 08 April 2012: In order to have a facelift to the Shirva Fish Market and to provide modern facilities for to fish sellers, Karnataka Coastal Development Authority conducted a survey of the location. Kaup MLA Lalaji R. Mendon, Coastal Development Authority Member Secretary Dr. K. Prabhakara Rao, Technical Advisor Basavaraj, Staff Rajeev, Shekar, Shirva Grama Development Officer Malati, Grama Panchayath Member Gopalakrishna Prabhu, Venkatesha Prabhu, Prasad, Shekara Nayak, Charan Shetty, Lakshmana Suvarna, Ramadasa Shenoy were present.
The facility which will be jointly organized by the state and central governments with a estimated cost of rupees 70 lakhs, will have the capacity for 25 fresh fish vendors and 20 dry fish vendors to sell fish at the same time. Cleaning will be arranged in all the 365 days, tap water, uniforms to the fish vendors, hand glouse, wash room facility are included in this project, said Coastal Development Authority Member Secretary Dr. K. Prabhakar Rao.
