Free Uniforms and books distributed in Marne primary School

Moodubelle, 15 June 2011: The Manipura Grama pancchyat distributed free uniforms and books to the scheduled caste and tribe students on Tuesday, 14 June 2011. Free uniforms and books sponsored by other donors were also distributed to other students.
The function of the free distribution of uniforms and books was presided over by the president of the Manipura Grama panchayat, Hasan Shaikh Ahmed. The chief guests included Ida Gibba D’Souza, member of the Udui Zilla panchayat and Devdas Hebbar, president of the Udupi Taluk panchayat. Other guests included Gurudas Bhandary, member of the Udupi Taluk panchayat, Krunakara Karkera, member of the Manipura Grama panchayat and president of the School Development Council, and other members of the Manipura Gerama panchayat-Raghava Shettigar, Mrs. Vinny D’Souza and Mrs. Baby Jagtap. Sponsors of the uniforms and books such as Muddhu Naik were also present for the function.
In his address, Devdas Hebbar said that it is a good sign that a number of donors are coming forward to sponsor free uniforms and books to the students in private school. It is the duty of the students to make good use of these facilities and study well and score good marks in their exams. Speaking about the worth of knowledge, Devdas Hebbar further said that money and gold can be stolen by thieves, but no one can take away knowledge from anyone. Hence, students should gain as much knowledge as possible and become good citizens of the country.
The headmaster of the school, Dayananda Nayak welcomed the guests; Mrs. Rathi proposed the vote of thanks and Krishna Naik compeered the programme.
